White Mountains

The White Mountains National Forest was the first extended stop for our trip. The area features several state parks including Crawford Notch and Mount Washington State Parks. Rain and Ice on the summit of Mt. Washington hampered some of our plans but we still enjoyed the area. A trip up the mountain on The Mount Washington Cog Railway was abbreviated by the company as the summit was closed due to over 100mph winds. This also nixed our plan for the Summit drive as well. For the Cog Railway, we choose the Steam Engine and despite the lack of scenery and lower return point it was a nice experience overall.
