Monongahela NF

Carri and I recently took advantage of our days off lining up to take a weekend trip to West Virginia. Carri was able to find an accommodation that allowed us to take our dog Aggie as well on her first overnight trip. After a long drive the night before, we spent the whole of the first day in the parks around the Monongahela National Forest area. Specifically, we went to Blackwater Falls State Park and Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. See the map on the gallery page for the route.

Yes, as per always, we were rained on, but the light and weather were exceptional. I tried to whittle the pictures down to a somewhat manageable number after taking hundreds of photos of sunset alone. Since we enjoyed all the stages of sunset, I did attempt to add them chronologically and include the full experience.
